Summer program in Scandinavia & Europe
For this summer program abroad, the critical skills of analysis, interpretation and representational articulation through continual sketches, use of collages and photography were developed, with an understanding that there is a difference between “drawing what is there” and “drawing what you actually see”. Study of different regional vernaculars, the importance of siting and materiality was also emphasized. Sites included Iceland, Norway, the Netherlands, Switzerland.
